​1 Injured In San Jose Residential Fire

A large residential structure was a "total loss" in a fire that left a juvenile with burn injuries, officials said.

SAN JOSE, CA — A large residential structure was a "total loss" in a fire on Saturday afternoon that left a juvenile with burn injuries, San Jose firefighters said.

The fire was reported at 2:44 p.m. in the 2400 block of Clyda Drive in east San Jose, the fire department said in a posting on X.

There were 10 fire engines at the scene as of 3:30 p.m., according to the fire department. The blaze was knocked down by 4:10 p.m., firefighters said.

In addition to destroying the structure, fire damaged a backyard shed and the fence of an adjacent home.

One juvenile patient was taken to a hospital with burns, the fire department said.
