2 Pedestrians Killed In South Bay Freeway Crash

The pedestrians were in the No. 1 lane when they were fatally struck by a 2021 Toyota early Sunday, the CHP said.

SAN JOSÉ, CA — Two pedestrians were killed early Sunday morning on a South Bay freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at around 4:40 a.m. on the southbound lanes of Highway 101 north of Interstate 880, when the pedestrians — a male and a female — were trying to cross from the center median to the shoulder, the CHP said.

The pedestrians were in the No. 1 lane when they were fatally struck by a 2021 Toyota, the CHP said.

It was raining at the time of the crash, the CHP said.
