3 Campbell Educators Named Administrators of the Year
Three Campbell Union School District administrators have earned awards from the Association of California School Administrators.
CAMPBELL, CA -- Three Campbell Union School District administrators have earned awards for their professionalism as instructional leaders and mentors from the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA).
The awards recognize outstanding performance, achievement, and dedication to public education. They will be guests of honor at a ACSA Region 8 celebration on Fri., May 10, 2019.

- Jennifer Jasper, Assistant Principal,Blackford Elementary School
"Elementary Co-Administrator of the Year"
Jennifer Jasper has been a Blackford teacher and administrator since 2006. She became Assistant Principal at Blackford in 2015 and is being recognized for helping to create a united school culture that values academics, trust, open communication, and consistent support for students and staff. She is known as someone who demonstrates integrity, champions equity in education, embodies high ethical and professional standards, and brings out the best in others.

- Marco Chavez, Principal, Sherman Oaks Elementary School
"First Year Administrator Superstar"
Although he is not new to school leadership, Marco Chavez is new to Campbell as principal of Sherman Oaks Dual Immersion School. He is being recognized for the positive influence he has had on the school community. His education career includes administration positions at school and county levels and directing regional programs aimed at improving instruction for English Learners. He elected to return to school-level leadership to guide our dual immersion school in implementing a successful 90:10 bi-literate/bilingual educational program. In this first year as principal, he has cultivated a cohesive team that is focused on high quality instruction, strong support structures that reduce student discipline issues and increase learning time, and positively transforming the Sherman Oaks culture for families, students and staff.

"2019 Woman of Inspiration Award"
Shelly Viramontez was selected for the Woman of Inspiration award for ACSA Region 8 in recognition of the impact she has had on the lives of women in educational leadership. As an instructional leader and educator to students from elementary to university level, she has trained, mentored and inspired hundreds of women locally and throughout California. She is known as a skilled communicator and a leader in forming innovative district and community partnerships that maximize support for students and their families. She models the professionalism and moral values that inspire others to join in the goal of preparing students for success as they face the challenges of a yet-to-be-defined future workplace.
