3 San Jose Eateries Named Best In The Bay For Milkshakes
A new list maps out the best places to beat the heat with a treat in the Bay Area.
SAN JOSE, CA — Two San Jose mainstays and a downtown ice cream joint have made the short list of the best spots to grab a milkshake amid the latest blast of heat in the Bay Area.
This week, the East Bay Times laid out their case for nine places to indulge in a sippable summer treat, including My Milkshake, a small shop that opened in San Jose in 2014 and boasts a menu of superhero-themed shakes.
The newspaper recommends ordering the popular "SpiderMMan", featuring KitKats and Ferro Rocher, and notes customers can make dairy-free and caffeinated modifications.

Also making the list is Falafel's Drive In, long known for its fusion of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and American eats — including the banana milkshake. Reviewers recommend first-timers stick with banana and consider upgrading to the combo that comes with a large falafel sandwich.
Another South Bay mainstay, Mark's Hot Dogs in East San Jose, also made the cut, with reviewers heaping praise on the full milkshake roster.

"You won't go wrong with any of the offerings — strawberry, chocolate, vanilla orange and more. Yet the one that makes us want to compose sonnets in its honor is the amazingly creamy root beer shake," the East Bay Times writes. "They use Barq's — one of the relatively rare caffeinated root beers on the market — which means the shake may leave you with a little more pep in your step."
