4 People Displaced After Structure Blaze: San Jose Fire
The blaze that occurred on Bristolwood Lane destroyed the garage and added to San Jose Fire's average of one structure fire per day.
SAN JOSE, CA — Adding to its daily average, a structure fire that displaced four people was doused Tuesday night on the northeast side of San Jose, the city fire department reported.
The blaze that displaced two children among the occupants fell on the same day the San Jose Fire Department gained approval from the City Council to construct three additional fire stations in the agency's priority list. The number of structure fire calls into the city department averages one a day and has increased 83 percent in the last decade, Capt. Mitch Matlow told Patch.
The latest fire initially reported at 11:13 p.m. occurred at 2138 Bristolwood Lane and was extinguished at about midnight going into Wednesday. The garage was destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
