Suspects In Great Mall Robbery Accused Of Assaulting Employee

All five suspects arrested in connection with the robbery are juveniles, authorities said.

MILPITAS, CA — Five juvenile suspects were arrested in connection with a Great Mall robbery earlier this month, Milpitas police said.

The five suspects were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime, police said.

A 13-year-old suspect from Oakland and a 14-year-old from Berkeley were booked into Juvenile Hall, police said.

The three other suspects (a 14 and a 12-year-old from Oakland and a 17-year-old from Hayward) were issued criminal citations and released to their parents, according to police.

Officers at around 6:50 p.m. Nov. 19 responding to the Great Mall on the report of a robbery determined a group of five juveniles stole multiple sunglasses from a kiosk, police said.

The suspects assaulted an employee who tried to stop them, police said.

Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Transit Deputies and Great Mall security helped police locate and arrest all five suspects.
