6-Year-Old Boy Killed After Running Onto Freeway Identified
A 6-year-old boy who was fatally hit by a car on Interstate Highway 280 in San Jose last week has been identified.
SAN JOSE, CA — A 6-year-old boy who was fatally hit by a car on Interstate Highway 280 in San Jose last week has been identified as King Holguin by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner.
King, of San Jose, was on the northbound shoulder of 280, south of Leland Avenue, shortly before 11 p.m. Friday when he reportedly ran onto the freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
Holguin was hit by a 2024 Nissan Altima driven by a 36-year-old man from San Jose.
The boy had severe injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The CHP has not released any information about why the boy was on the freeway and officials said the collision is still under investigation.
