Man With Pellet Gun Detained At Good Samaritan Hospital: SJPD
Hospital was locked down, and the man with a pellet gun in the parking lot was quickly detained when San Jose Police units arrived.
SAN JOSE, CA -- Marking an up-and-coming full moon Friday, multiple law enforcement vehicles responded to a report of a man with a gun Thursday morning at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, police and the medical facility confirmed.
No shots were fired, and no one was hurt, San Jose police said.
An adult male was taken into custody after he brandished a pellet gun on the hospital grounds. The call came from the emergency room of the hospital. The hospital staff detained the adult male suspect until officers arrived. The suspect will be booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for brandishing a replica firearm.

The mere possession placed the hospital in a lockdown mode per protocol, a hospital employee told Patch. She has worked for the facility for a few decades and does not recall an "active shooter" incident occurring there.
“We appreciate the quick response from area police departments, and there were no injuries as a result of this morning’s incident,” hospital spokesman Christopher Brown said. “Our emergency department has resumed full operations and is receiving patients."

The HCA-owned hospital located on the 2400 block of Samaritan Drive is an acute care hospital, which is known for providing specialty treatment for stroke and chest pain.
The city police department was assisted by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department.
