Apartment Fire Displaces 14 In San Jose
A three-alarm fire at a San Jose apartment complex left multiple units uninhabitable Friday morning.
SAN JOSE, CA — A fast-moving blaze that broke out Wednesday at a San Jose apartment complex ripped through several units and left 14 people without a home, according to the fire department.
Fire officials said the first call came in at 5:15 a.m. from a building on Gimelli Way, and the response was soon upgraded to three alarms. Crews reported the fire knocked down at 6:18 a.m. and said no firefighters or residents were injured.
Four units were rendered uninhabitable by the flames, including two with major damage and two with moderate damage, and four other apartments had smoke and water damage, leaving 10 adults and four children displaced.
