Firefighters Fully Contain Santa Clara Blazes

In addition to encircling the San Jose area blaze, Cal Fire now has full containment on the Milpitas Calaveras Fire near Weller Road.

SAN JOSE, CA — Cal Fire got the upper hand on two Santa Clara County fires over night, reporting full containment Tuesday morning on the 210-acre Malech Fire that broke out Sunday afternoon between San Jose and Morgan Hill.

In addition, the state fire agency has 100 percent containment on the 35-acre Calaveras Fire burning east of Milpitas near Weller Road, which is closer to homes, Cal Fire added.
