Cambell Warns Of Scam Police Calls: 'Stay Alert'

Callers have been impersonating police officers and authorities, the department said.

CAMPBELL, CA — The City of Campbell Police Department is warning residents about a recent phone scam involving callers who are spoofing the department’s official phone number.

According to a post shared by the agency on social media, scammers have been impersonating Campbell police officers and demanding personal information or payments for fictitious offenses such as bail, warrants, fines, or threats of deportation or arrest.

Officials emphasized that the department will never call to request payments or sensitive personal details, including Social Security numbers.

Residents are urged to hang up immediately if they receive a suspicious call and to verify any claims by calling the department directly at 408-866-2101.

“Stay alert, Campbell!” the department said in its post.
