Campbell Police Ask For Help Identifying Attempted Auto Theft Suspects

Campbell police are asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects caught on surveillance video. Do you recognize either person?

Campbell - Campbell police are asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects caught on surveillance video whom they believe were attempting to steal a vehicle early on Wednesday morning.

Police say the video shows the two suspects entering three unlocked vehicles on Mitchell Court in Campbell and rummaging through the contents of the vehicles.

Police believe the male suspect, seen sitting in the driver’s seat, tried to start one of the cars but was unsuccessful after several attempts.

Campbell police say both suspects then left the area.

Police say they contacted owners of the three vehicles and found property was taken from two of them, including paperwork, money, and an iPhone.

No damage was done to any of the vehicles, according to Campbell police.

The male suspect is described by police as a Hispanic male in his teens to early twenties, with dark hair, wearing a dark colored hoodie with a lighter colored lining in the hood.

Police believe the other suspect is a white female in her teens to early twenties with light hair, wearing a denim vest/hoodie.

The Campbell Police Department wants to remind residents to keep their vehicles locked with no items of value in sight.

They also would also like to encourage Campbell community members to register their surveillance cameras on the Campbell Police Department's new camera registry that can be found on their website here or on their mobile app.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has any information about the thefts is asked to call their 24-hour dispatch center at (408) 866-2101 or the Investigations Unit at (408) 871-5190.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously through their free mobile application (Campbell Police Department), downloadable from the App Store or Google Play.
