Campbell Residents in the Dark Due to Outage

Outage in nearby West San Jose and Saratoga leaves 422 without power.

According to PG&E, there are 32 Campbell customers without power this morning, due to a planned shut down of power.

PG&E spokeswoman Nicole Liebelt says two shut down affects residents along the Chalet Woods Circle and Chalet Place and that customers received notification about the planned shut down via mail or phone message. Power is estimated to return at 2:00 p.m. June 6.

This planned outage is separate from a power outage in nearby West San Jose and Saratoga, Liebelt says.

There are 422 customers out of power due to that outage and an assessment team is out patrolling the area to identify the cause, she said.

"What we try to do is reroute power, which is called backfeeding," Liebelt said.

The affected area includes Prospect Road, east from Calabazas to Johnson north from Blaney to Bollinger Road. Streets without power include: Miller, Huntington, Ora and Rainbow.

There is currently no estimated time for power restoration.
