Campbell Two-Hour Standoff, Shelter-In-Place Ends With Arrest

Police issued a shelter-in-place order Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m. due to what they called a "domestic disturbance" on Wren Way.

CAMPBELL, CA — Police arrested a man Wednesday night outside a Campbell residence on suspicion of shooting into the home on Wren Way.

Timothy Johnson, 38, was charged with shooting into an inhabited dwelling and suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance while being in possession of a loaded firearm.

Police issued a shelter-in-place order Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m. due to what they called a “domestic disturbance.” A man later identified as Johnson was seen pointing a handgun towards the home, yelling and firing a shot into the home, according to police. A 9mm ghost gun and multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene.

Johnson was arrested after a two-hour standoff and was “agitated and uncooperative with police negotiators, Campbell police claimed. He was taken into custody after officers approached him.

The San Jose, Los Gatos and Santa Clara police departments and the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Office assisted with the incident.
