Christmas Day Death Outside South Bay Hospital Under Investigation
The victim appeared to have suffered an unspecified injury, authorities said
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Authorities are investigating the Christmas Day death of a man who was found outside a South Bay hospital, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies at around 9:30 a.m. Sunday responded to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San José on the report of an unresponsive male lying on the ground outside of the hospital, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The male was unconscious and appeared to have sustained an injury.

San Jose Fire Department and Paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim dead at 9:36 a.m.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene to take over the death investigation.

This is an ongoing investigation and there is no threat to public safety in connection with this incident, the Sheriff’s Office said.
