Cyclist Killed In San Jose Crash

According to police, the cyclist hit a pickup truck and fell into the street where he was struck by a second vehicle.

SAN JOSE, CA — A cyclist has died after suffering serious injuries during a collision involving two vehicles in San Jose, according to police.

The crash was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday near North 10th Street and East Julian Street. Police said a preliminary investigation revealed a man on a bicycle was headed west on East Julian Street when he hit the back of a pickup truck traveling south on North 10th Street.

According to investigators, the cyclist fell onto the road and was hit by a Chevy sedan driving south on North 10th Street. Medics rushed the man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and he later died.

Police said both drivers were cooperating with the investigation. The incident marked San Jose's 26th traffic death of the year.
