Homicide Suspects Sought By San Jose Police

The shooting death of Mark Edward Jones, 49, on East Virginia Street remains a mystery on a motive.

SAN JOSE, CA — The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating the suspects shown in the linked video.

Officers responded to a person down call on East Virginia Street at South 3rd Street in San Jose at 1 a.m. on Dec. 5, 2018 and located the victim suffering from at least one gunshot would. The victim was dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed the suspects got in a brief altercation with the victim who was subsequently shot by one of the suspects. The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation.

Suspect No. 1 is described as a white or hispanic adult male, with a medium- to heavy build, unknown age and height, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, light colored jacket, dark pants and dark sneakers with white soles.

Suspect No. 2 is described as a white or hispanic adult male, with a medium build, unknown age and height, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jacket and dark pants.
