Man Accused Of DUI, Manslaughter After Passenger Thrown From Truck

Police allege a man was driving under the influence and doing donuts in a parking lot when a woman fell from his truck and was hit.

SAN JOSE, CA — Police allege a drunk driver was doing donuts in a San Jose parking lot when a woman fell from his truck and was hit and killed.

According to the San Jose Police Department, officers were called to a crash scene on the 14900 block of Camden Avenue a few minutes before midnight Friday. Police said an investigation revealed a man was driving his Ford pickup recklessly in the parking lot with a woman and two men on board.

According to investigators, the woman fell out of the front passenger seat and onto the pavement, where she was hit by the truck. Medics rushed the woman to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said officers at the scene determined alcohol was a factor in the crash, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence. The incident was San Jose's 37th traffic-related death of the year.
