Mobile Mental Crisis Response Launched By Santa Clara County
Now Santa Clara County residents may call for help in a mental health crisis at 800-704-0900.
SAN JOSE, CA — A crisis is seldom scheduled at a particular place. Once reserved for law enforcement to use, an expansion of the Mobile Crisis Response Teams has taken off in Santa Clara County to help with mental health emergencies.
Through the Santa Clara Behavioral Health Services Department, county residents can directly call 800-704-0900 selecting option No. 2 to request a Mobile Crisis Response Team response.
These teams screen and assess crisis situations over the phone and intervene wherever the crisis is occurring. They provide an immediate response and deliver crisis intervention services at locations throughout the county. They work closely with law enforcement, crisis hotlines, the community and family members.
