Motorcyclist Killed In South Bay Crash
This is San José's 57th fatal collision and the 59th traffic death of 2022.
SAN JOSÉ, CA — A motorcyclist was killed Thursday afternoon in a crash involving an SUV, San José police said.
Officers at around 4:11 p.m. responded to the area of Cottle Road and Coronado Avenue to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle, police said.
Officers determined that a 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by an adult male was traveling northbound on Cottle Road when it struck a 2006 Honda SUV that was turning left from southbound Cottle Road onto eastbound Coronado Avenue on a solid green turn signal, police said.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Honda remained on scene and was cooperative, according to police.
