The man pleaded guilty last June in U.S. District Court. His theft charges were dismissed.
SAN JOSE, CA -- A 38-year-old San Jose man was sentenced to six years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, U.S. Attorney David L. Anderson announced Tuesday.
Anderson, working alongside U.S. Postal Inspection Service Inspector in Charge Rafael Nuñez with help from the Santa Clara Police Department, accepted a guilty plea to the charge last June. According to the plea agreement, Finn admitted that on Feb. 3, 2017, while in a department store in Santa Clara, he had a loaded Colt Mk IV .380 caliber semi-automatic firearm. The gun had an obliterated serial number. Further, Finn admitted was a convicted felon and was not eligible to possess a firearm.
According to court documents, Finn also possessed at the time a stolen vehicle and about 400 pieces of stolen mail. These charges were dismissed with the guilty plea.
