San Jose Police Seek Help Solving 2016 Murder

A 24-year-old San Jose man was fatally shot in April 2016 on Sand Point Drive, and officers have found no suspects.

SAN JOSE, CA — The city police department is asking for the public's assistance to help solve the murder of a 24-year-old San Jose man on April 18, 2016.

San Jose police officers responded to a shots fired call in the 2700 block of Sand Point Drive in San Jose. Arriving officers located the victim identified as Carlos Silvestre Soto Ojeda suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed witnesses heard a brief altercation prior to the shooting. However, no suspects have been identified.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant John Cary or Detective Elizabeth Ramirez of the San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit at 408-277-5283.
