San Jose Sharks Apologize For Pro-ICE Message On Screen At Hockey Game
The incident occurred during the Sharks' Los Tiburones game, an annual event to celebrate the team's commitment to the Hispanic community.

SAN JOSE, CA — The San Jose Sharks hockey team issued an apology after what appeared to be a message of support for U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement was displayed on the screen at Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The message, captured on video and now circulating on social media, said, “SJ SHARKS FANS LOVE ICE!! GET ‘EM BOYZ!” After the message appeared on the screen, it was met with at least one loud boo, which is audible in a video of the incident posted by a commenter below the team’s online apology.
The night the message was shown on the screen was the Sharks’ Los Tiburones game, an annual event to celebrate the team’s commitment to the Hispanic community in the Bay Area. The message also follows months of escalating and high-profile immigration enforcement activity in the Bay Area and across America at the behest of President Donald Trump.

“During the first intermission of tonight’s game, an offensively worded message which had been externally submitted was inadvertently displayed on the in-arena scoreboard,” the Sharks said Saturday night in a post on X.
“Sharks Sports & Entertainment deeply regrets that this message, which does not meet our organization’s values, was not detected during our standard review process. The Sharks organization sincerely apologizes for this oversight, and we are actively working to determine the origin of the message."
