Shooting Suspect, Victim Remain At Large In SJ: SCC Sheriff's

The two men were seen on surveillance video near Richmond Avenue confronting one another, then running away in different directions.

SAN JOSE, CA — A suspect remains at large in connection with a shooting Monday night involving a victim that has not come forward after deputies reviewed a video showing the two men confronted one another from vehicles in San Jose, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department reported.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene in the area of Richmond Avenue and Scott Street upon calls gunshots were heard at about 10:20 p.m. The second caller said a victim was shot, according to the sheriff's report.

Upon arrival, deputies found bullet casings at the scene. Through their initial investigation, they obtained surveillance video from a nearby residence that showed a black-colored, 4-door sedan driving southbound on Richmond Avenue.

A male suspect exited the vehicle and confronted a male victim.

The suspect is seen chasing the victim out of the camera range. Shortly after, both suspect and victim return in view of the camera, and the suspect begins shooting at the victim. The suspect ran away from the scene, and the victim ran across the street into a back yard.

Both the suspect nor victim has met with law enforcement.

The case is under investigation, with no apparent risk to the public, the sheriff's department indicated.
