SJ Detectives Seek Help Solving 2018, 2020 Cold Cases
San Jose homicide detectives are working to develop new leads in two unsolved shootings from 2018 and 2020.

SAN JOSE, CA — Detectives in San Jose are hoping the public can help develop new threads in two cold case homicide investigations.
In a news release Thursday, the San Jose Police Department resurfaced details about separate deadly shootings that remain unsolved from 2018 and 2020. In the first case, officers found a man with a fatal gunshot wound at 1:02 a.m. on Dec. 5, 2018, near East Virginia Street and South 3rd Street.
Two unknown men captured on surveillance are wanted in connection with the shooting, but both have remained unidentified, police said.

In the second case, police said a man was shot multiple times around 5:17 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2020, while sitting in his vehicle on the 2200 block of Orlando Drive. Medics rushed the victim to the hospital, where he later died. Detectives shared a picture of a gold Lexus GS300 they believe the shooter or shooters used to flee the scene.

Anyone with information on either case can contact the homicide unit at 408-277-5283 or call the anonymous tip line at 408-947-STOP. Police said many of their outstanding cases qualify for cash rewards.
