South Bay Cop Shooting Suspect Arrested
An officer suffered a non-life-threatening injury in the shooting early Saturday morning, police said.
SAN JOSE, CA — San Jose police arrested the man they suspect shot an officer early Saturday morning, after a traffic stop led to a shootout.
Officers pulled over a vehicle at 10:29 p.m. Friday night near the intersection of King and Story roads. Police say the driver exited his vehicle and began shooting at the officers, hitting their patrol vehicle multiple times. Neither officer was injured.

Both officers returned fire, striking the vehicle as it sped away. Police later found the suspect and called in its Mobile Emergency Response Group and Equipment (MERGE) team to a residence in the 800 block of Sinbad Ave.
During the operation, a man appeared in the home's backyard and began firing at police. A member of the MERGE team was shot around 3:10 a.m. and sustained non-life-threatening injury.

He was transported to a local hospital.
Police say the suspect surrendered and was arrested shortly afterward.
