Fatal South Bay Solo-Vehicle Crash Under Investigation
This is the San José's 62nd fatal collision of 2022, and the 64th traffic fatality of this year.
SAN JOSÉ, CA — A man was killed early Wednesday morning in a solo-vehicle crash, San José police said.
Officers at around 2 a.m. Wednesday responded to the area of Capitol Expressway and Seven Trees Boulevard on the report of a solo vehicle traffic collision, police said.
A preliminary investigation determined a 2002 Acura driven by an adult male was traveling eastbound on Capitol Expressway at a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a palm tree in the center median, south of Seven Trees Boulevard, police said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
