'Suspicious Vehicle' Call Morphs Into Drug Arrest: SCC Sheriff's

SAN JOSE, CA — A San Jose man was arrested on suspicion of drug crimes upon a suspicious vehicle call last week, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department reported Monday.

When patrol deputies responded to the vehicle parked near Hester Ave in San Jose at 3:30 a.m. Friday, they identified 38-year-old Michael Mendoza as a man on probation for possession and sales of a controlled substance. A probationary search of the vehicle turned up 271 grams of crystal methamphetamine, multiple cell phones and cash, the sheriff's department added.

Mendoza was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for violating his probation as well as possession and transportation of a controlled substance.
