Aptos iPhone Heist Leads To Discovery Of 8 iPhones
An app from a iPhone stolen during a swim meet at Aptos High School last Saturday led deputies to a illegal cache of phones in Watsonville.

APTOS - An app from a iPhone stolen during a swim meet at Aptos High School last Saturday led deputies to a illegal cache of five more phones at a home in Watsonville.
According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, after the phone was stolen from the locker room, the female victim used the “Find My iPhone” app and tracked her phone to a house in Watsonville. She then called the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say they contacted the Watsonville resident and found the victim’s cell phone along with five additional stolen iPhones from the swim meet.

According to authorities, the suspect is a female juvenile that attends Aptos High School.
Monday, deputies say they located two more juvenile suspects, both Aptos High students, one a male and one a female.

Deputies recovered two more iPhones - for a total of 8 - according to the Sheriff's Office.
The owners of the phones have been located and their cell phones have been returned to them.
The Sheriff's Office says the two females have been charged with burglary and the male juvenile will be charged with possession of stolen property.
