Assemblymember to Tour Westwood MinuteClinic

Assemblymember Holly Mitchell (D-Los Angeles) will tour the clinic Friday.

The Westwood MinuteClinic on Friday will get a visit from California Assemblymember Holly Mitchell (D-Los Angeles).

"Mitchell will look to understand how MinuteClinic's retail health care model is making services more affordable for her constituents while helping to relieve increasing pressures on the state's health system as it gears up for federal health care reform," according to a press release.

While at the Westwood clinic, Mitchell, who is chair of the Assembly's Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human Services, will also get a flu shot.

Mitchell will take a tour with MinuteClinic's Los Angeles District Manager of Operations Debbie Palaski and UCLA Medical Director Dr. Bernard Katz. The university and MinuteClinic recently agreed to collaborate on enhancing access to affordable, high quality health care services in L.A. County.

MinuteClinics are walk-in medical clinics that are staffed by certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The Westwood clinic is located inside the .
