Person Under Train In Critical Condition After Rescue On LA Metro Tracks

The person was extricated but in "at least critical condition," according to authorities.

LOS ANGELES — A person was rescued from under a train Sunday morning in Rancho Park, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was responding around 10:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of Westwood Boulevard for an extrication, the agency reported. By 11 a.m., the person was extricated but in “at least critical condition,” according to an alert from the department.

Metro Los Angeles posted on X around 11 a.m. that E Line trains were single-tracking at the Westwood/Rancho Park Station on the East LA platform “due to a medical emergency.” The station at one point closed, with trains turning back to East LA at Palms Station, but it had reopened as of 11:30 a.m.
