Sawtelle Boulevard between Exposition and Pico boulevards in West Los Angeles will be closed for 10 consecutive nights beginning tonight as part of construction work on Phase 2 of the Expo light rail line.

The small stretch of road will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night, according to Metro.

Construction crews will be working on the bridge that will span over Sawtelle just south of Pico. During the closures, northbound traffic on Sawtelle will be detoured at Exposition, and southbound traffic will be detoured at Pico.

Electronic message boards, directional signage or workers with flags will be used to direct vehicles and pedestrians around the construction zone. Local access to businesses and residences will be maintained, Metro officials said. Pedestrians also will have full access to the area.
