The woman was unharmed.

A search was underway for an armed man who confronted a UCLA student in Westwood early today, but she wasn’t hurt.

The confrontation occurred in the 400 block of Landfair Avenue around 12:15 a.m., said UCLA Police Sgt. Andrew Ikeda. The student noticed the man loitering in front of an off-campus residential apartment building, he said.

The suspect, who was wearing a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, pulled his shirt back to reveal a small black handgun, Ikeda said. A tweet from a campus newspaper reporter said the student screamed.
