Korean Fried-Chicken Chain 'Bonchon' Opens In Artesia
The restaurant, that prides itself on its crispy, Korean-style "crunch out loud" chicken, is celebrating with upcoming sandwich giveaway.
ARTESIA, CA — Bonchon, a worldwide chain known for its "crunch out loud" Korean-style chicken, opened its seventh Southern California restaurant this week in Artesia.
The Pioneer Boulevard location plans a grand opening celebration Monday, June 13, with a free chicken sandwich to the first 100 guests in line.
The fast-growing Bonchon launched in 2002 in South Korea, and now operates more than 385 locations worldwide, including 26 in California. Other area Bonchons include Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa and San Gabriel.

“Bringing another location to California is always a rewarding process, and we know that this new location will become a hotspot for the Artesia community,” said Greg Buchanan, the company's chief administrative officer. “As we continue to grow and bring Bonchon to new locations across the world, we are excited that more communities get a chance to try our Asian-fusion cuisine that is loved by so many.”
The restaurant has garnered fans with its hand-breaded, double-fried chicken, brushed with signature sauces.

In addition to chicken wings, strips and drumsticks, Bonchon's Pan Asian menu also offers potstickers, takoyaki (fried octopus dumplings with Japanese mayo and katsu sauce), pork buns, Korean tacos, edamame, bulgogi (thinly sliced, marinated ribeye with rice), tteokbokki (rice cakes simmered in spicy broth with fish cakes), bibimbap (white rice, quinoa, vegetables and egg), kimchi cole slaw and sesame ginger salad.
The Artesia location, at 17901 Pioneer Blvd., offers dine-in, takeout and delivery. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. See website here for menu and ordering details.
