LA teens admit to cartel murder for hire plot at Chili's restaurant — they were just 15 years old (nypost.com) — A cartel-linked murder-for-hire attempt first unfolded outside a Chili’s in Chula Vista, where a 15-year-old allegedly shot the intended target in the leg before his gun jammed. Hours later, a second attempt at the victim’s home left an accomplice dead and another person wounded. The two Los Angeles teens have now pleaded guilty in federal court and face sentencing in March.
