A 62-year-old man will serve life in prison after being convicted of three bank robberies, including one in Citrus Heights.
Ralph Steward was sentenced to 30 years plus 75 years to life in prison for three U.S. Bank robberies in 2011, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney's office.
Last month, he was convicted of three bank robberies in Citrus Heights and Rancho Cordova during June and July 2011.
"The jury also found true that Stewart had a previous robbery conviction and four previous bank robbery convictions, all occurring in the Bay Area between 1993 and 2003," according to the press release.
"In each instance, Stewart entered the bank, waited in line, demanded money from the tellers, and fled on foot. He was ultimately recognized and apprehended by law enforcement during an unrelated contact weeks later," according to the release.
