Citrus Heights Man With Child Porn on His Computer Arrested Tuesday

Danny R. Smith, 50, of Citrus Heights, was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

 

A Citrus Heights man has been arrested in connection with the distribution of child pornography, the Sacramento Sheriff's Department announced today. 

Danny R. Smith, 50, of Citrus Heights, was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail Tuesday on one felony charge, according to Sgt. Jason Ramos. He is being held on $50,000 bail.

Here are the details of the investigation and the arrest: 

The Internet Crimes Against children (ICAC) Task Force received information that Smith (see attached photo) was trading files of child pornography via the Internet. A federal search warrant was served at Smith’s residence in the 2000 block of Bluebird Lane in Sacramento. Detectives discovered that Smith had recently moved, and tracked him to the city of Citrus Heights, where he was taken into custody. It was discovered that Smith, who lived alone, had images of child pornography on his computer.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information pertaining to Smith and any unlawful activity to contact the High-Tech Crimes Task Force at (916) 874-3002.
