Police: Last Week's Drive-By Shooting Was Not Random

Citrus Heights Police Department has reason to believe the was not part of some random occurrence, CHPD spokesman Eric Mattke said.

Mattke explained investigators believe the suspect(s) followed the victim from outside the city limits. The victim's identity has not been disclosed at this time.

According to a police report, witnesses in the area reported hearing multiple gun shots and observed a red compact passenger vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

The suspect(s) in the shooting have not been identified at this time.
