Woman Suspected of Hitting and Killing 6-Year-Old While on Drugs Due in Court Again
Tresa Bales-Sterba is accused of hitting two brothers–and killing one–while under the influence of multiple drugs last year.

An Orangevale woman accused of hitting two Citrus Heights elementary school students–one of whom died months later–as they walked to school last year is due back in court next week.
Tresa Bales-Sterba (erroneously identified earlier as Teresa), 52, is accused of being high on multiple drugs in October when she hit an SUV at near San Juan High School and careened into two brothers walking in a crosswalk.

Bales-Sterba currently faces a felony DUI charge and a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license, although the Sacramento Bee reports she may face additional charges now that one of the crash victims has died.
She's due in Sacramento County Superior Court Tuesday afternoon for a settlement conference. The Bee reports she's currently free on bail.
