Army Specialist From La Verne Recognized By City Council

La Verne has 60 community members currently serving in the military. U.S. Army Specialist Thomas J. Lopez is among them.

LA VERNE, CA — La Verne City Council recently recognized U.S. Army Specialist Thomas J. Lopez for his service to the country.

According to city officials, La Verne has 60 community members currently serving in the military. Lopez is among them.

Lopez is a native La Vernian going back several generations on both sides of his family, city officials said. After graduating from Bonita High School in 2016, he worked for several years in La Verne to support his family and decided to enlist in the U.S. Army in 2019.

His siblings and twin brother accepted an award, a mini-banner, on his behalf.
