Election Day is has finally arrived. Here’s what you need to know before you begin to fill out your ballot.

Local's not only have to vote between giving President Barack Obama another four years or electing Republican challenger Governor Mitt Romney, voters will have to sift through a long list of local representatives and measures.

In Los Angeles County, many Democratic incumbents face new Republican challengers, but experts say redrawn districts have placed the Democrats with a strong advantage.

With 11 state measures on a crowded ballot, the propositions with the most attention are Proposition 30 and 38, both proposing increased funding for education through higher taxes.

Los Angeles County Measures

Los Angeles County voters will decide on three county ballot measures.

In Measure A, voters will determine whether to change the LA County Assessor office from an elected position to an appointed position.

Measure J extends the on-half cent sales tax for transportation spending for 30 years.

Measure B would require porn actors to wear condoms on set.
