Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Metrolink Train
The accident occured at around 9 a.m. on a Los Angeles-bound train.

CLAREMONT, CA - A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday morning by a Los Angeles-bound Metrolink train as a result of a possible suicide, authorities said.
The accident happened around 8:50 a.m. at the Cambridge Avenue crossing on the San Bernardino Line Train 317, Metrolink spokesman Scott Johnson said.

Police said the female pedestrian attempted to cross the tracks after the safety gate has been lowered and lights activated to signal the train was coming.
There were 175 passengers on board and no on-board injuries were reported Johnson said.

Two trains, 319 and 304, were also delayed by the accident. The tracks were reopened at around 10:15 with limited speed around the accident area as authorities investigate the accident.
There may be some residual delays throughout the afternoon on Metrolink, but Johnson said he doesn't expect there to be any delays come the evening rush hour.
The Claremont Police Department was investigating the accident as a possible suicide
