What Did Your Congress Representatives Seats Cost?
Find out how much Rep. Judy Chu, who serves Claremont, and Grace Napolitano, who serves La Verne, raises to win their district seats.

Rep. Judy Chu won election to the new 27th congressional district while Rep. Grace Napolitano won the 32nd seat last fall. Both now represent a large chunk of the San Gabriel Valley/Inland Empire.
But how much did his House seat cost them?
Campaigns cost money—most of the time lots of it. In terms of dollars and cents, Chu raised $1,523,072 during the 2012 election cycle, according to MapLight, a non-profit that tracks money in politics.

Napolitano on the other hand, raised $540,770, far less but still defeated challenger David Miller who described himself as a citizen candidate for congress during the election.
Chu's figure is pretty typical: the average House member raised $1,689,580, or $2,315 a day, according to MapLight.
