• Union Pacific Train Derails Near Colfax No Injuries or Hazards Reported (sierradailynews.com) — A Union Pacific freight train derailed early Saturday morning just north of Colfax near Highway 174 and Narrow Gauge Road, just outside city limits, but no injuries or hazardous material releases were reported. Crews cleared the tracks by noon and rail traffic resumed, though Amtrak’s California Zephyr is still using a bus bridge between Sacramento and Emeryville while the cause is investigated.
