His new leadership role is intended to elevate the needs of Colusa County and other rural Northern California communities in statewide policy and funding discussions.

• LaMalfa Legislation to Protect Rural Areas from Fires Passes House (gridleyherald.com) — Colusa County is part of the district represented by Rep. Doug LaMalfa, whose wildfire bill to keep aerial fire retardant available recently passed the U.S. House. The measure aims to prevent Clean Water Act permitting delays from slowing firefighting responses, which could affect how future wildfires near Colusa are fought and contained.
