BART: Broken Window 'Not Caused By Bullet'
BREAKING: Some assumed the broken window reported on a BART train near the Concord station was from a bullet, a spokeswoman said.
CONCORD, CA — A damaged window on a BART train that some assumed to be caused by a bullet was actually due to impact from a hard object like a rock or bolt, a spokeswoman for the transit agency said this morning. A broken window was reported around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday near the Concord station on a Pittsburg/Bay Point-bound train, which was taken out of service and inspected.
An image of the damage circulating on social media caused concern, prompting BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost to check with BART police.
"They concluded it was not caused by a bullet," Trost said on Twitter this morning.

"Stuff does hit our windows from time to time and people have thrown things at moving trains," Trost added.
No injuries were reported and the window has already been replaced.
