Of the site's 52 trees, 21 would be removed for the project. The report says the company would provide tree protection measures for the remaining trees, and 59 new trees.
Developer 4G Development & Consulting submitted a preliminary application on Dec. 16, 2021, to demolish the vacant Claim Jumper and construct a Chick-fil-A with dual drive-through lanes.

According to a staff report for Wednesday's meeting, the city and applicant held a neighborhood meeting on Jan. 6, 2022, which no neighbors attended.
The site would also feature an outdoor patio and a drive-through queuing for approximately 43 vehicles. It will employ 50 to 75 full-time and part-time employees.
Chick-fil-A is a family-owned company with over 2,800 restaurants in 47 states with chicken as the focus of their menu.
The company is also controversial for its contributions to conservative political campaigns and anti-LGBTQ organizations, though in recent years the chain has said it stopped giving to those groups. The company opened its first restaurant in 1946 in Hapeville, Georgia.
The Concord Planning Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Council Chamber at the Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Drive. The meeting can be seen on the city's website or on Zoom, at https://bit.ly/3GevDS1.
