Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Concord
He was a 25-year-old Concord resident, authorities said.
CONCORD, CA — The Contra Costa County coroner's office has identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car early Saturday in Concord.
His name was Azim Sayedi and he was 25 years old, the coroner's office said.
According to Concord police, Sayedi was walking across Kirker Pass Road shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday when he was hit by a car traveling southbound on Kirker Pass between Clearbrook and Myrtle drives.

Emergency personnel responded and pronounced Sayedi, a Concord resident, dead at the scene.
Two lanes of Kirker Pass Road were closed for three hours as the fatal incident was investigated.

Police said the driver, a 30-year-old man, remained on the scene and cooperated with officers.
The investigation was continuing; police asked any witnesses to contact Concord police Traffic Officer Parsley at 925-603-5963.
