Deadly Crash Reported On Highway 4 In Discovery Bay: CHP

Breaking: The roadway was closed in both directions as emergency personnel responded to a fatal crash involving three cars.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The California Highway Patrol reported a fatality in a three-car crash Wednesday morning on state Highway 4 in Discovery Bay.

The East County collision was first reported at 7:10 a.m. on westbound SR-4 just east of Discovery Bay Boulevard. Early reports indicated a Toyota Camry, a work truck and an Acura sedan were involved.

All lanes of SR-4 were blocked at the scene and a sig-alert was issued shortly after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Traffic was diverted at Tracy Boulevard until the roadway reopened at 10:30 a.m., the CHP reported.
