Discovery Bay Homicide Suspect Surrenders To Authorities
BREAKING: Contra Costa County sheriff's officials say a 48-year-old man was fatally shot when confronting two alleged reckless drivers.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — An Antioch man suspected of fatally shooting a Discovery Bay resident over the weekend turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday, Contra Costa County sheriff's officials said. At about 5 p.m. Wednesday 19-year-old Brayan Zavala turned himself in to Antioch police. Contra Costa County sheriff's officials then arrested and interviewed him.
Around 7:30 p.m., Zavala was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of homicide. He is being held on $1 million bail, sheriff's officials said.
Zavala is accused of fatally shooting 48-year-old Bradley MacHugh in the 1700 block of Wilde Drive in Discovery Bay.

According to sheriff's officials, on Sunday at 12:40 a.m. MacHugh got into a verbal altercation with the occupants of two vehicles after he witnessed them driving recklessly. Investigators believe Zavala then shot MacHugh.
Deputies arrived at the scene and found MacHugh in the street. He was unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite attempts to save his life, he was later pronounced dead, sheriff's officials said.
